Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Harrow Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with age restrictions varying depending on the vehicle type. A full, valid driving licence suitable for the category of the vehicle is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification and current proof of address must be provided, along with payment information and a security deposit. Any further requirements specified in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Harrow office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally due upon picking up your vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the car. You are required to return the vehicle in the same condition, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please ensure the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms

Additional insurance options may be offered to help lessen your financial liability. It is advisable to review these carefully. You will be liable for damages or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms rests with you, irrespective of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar risky endeavors is not permitted. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is also forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, without exceeding passenger or weight limits. Travel beyond the agreed geographical boundaries requires explicit permission.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Harrow is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
